What is small change

How You Can Make Small Change for SOLV!

There are a number of ways you can participate in collecting change for the Small Change for SOLV campaign. For example, set up a box, bin or bottle to collect small change. We encourage you to challenge others to meet or match your raised donations. Be creative when choosing your Small Change for SOLV collection receptacle! Use an empty water, soda or juice bottle. Fill up an empty peanut butter jar, jelly jar, soup can or cottage cheese container. Collect change in vases, shoeboxes, plastic containers or even your Halloween candy collecting pumpkin. Anything that can hold stuff can be used as a collection receptacle.

Instructions for creating your Small Change for SOLV receptacle:
  1. Choose your receptacle
  2. Wash it thoroughly and remove the label if needed
  3. If the opening isn’t large enough for a quarter, cut a slit or hole in the container. Kids, ask for a grown up to help you with this!
  4. Download and print out the Small Change for SOLV label
  5. Tape the label to the receptacle
  6. Fill it with change!
  7. When your collection receptacle is full, just take it to any Wells Fargo Branch, Oregon Pacific Bank, or other participating bank location.
  8. Recycle your container
Following are some suggestions for different ways you can collect funds using your Small Change for SOLV collection receptacle:
  • Place a large collection receptacle, of your choice, in the lobby of your office.
  • Challenge other classrooms in your school to see which class can collect the most change.
  • Challenge other departments in your workplace to see who can collect the most small change.
  • Encourage family members and co-workers to collect their change.
In addition to the Small Change for SOLV label, supplementary collateral materials are available to download. These can be used to promote your fundraising efforts. Download a poster and re-size it to fit your needs and then hang it up at your school or business or wherever you will be collecting the change.
